New Delhi, September 7 : Rhea Chakraborty has been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for further questioning in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case today (September 7), a second time after she was first called in on Sunday (September 6). This comes after Rhea’s brother, Showik Chakraborty was arrested in the drug peddling angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
In Sunday’s interrogation, Rhea admitted that she was procuring drugs for Sushant through her brother Showik. Sources revealed that Rhea Chakraborty told NCB officials she knew about Samuel Miranda, Sushant’s house manager, who went to buy drugs from Zaid Vilatra, a Bandra-based peddler who was nabbed by the NCB, on March 17.
According to her confession, Rhea not only knew about the deal, but she was also coordinating with Zaid along with her brother Showik Chakraborty. Rhea, Showik and several others, along with the drug peddling angle came to the fore after WhatsApp chats from March 15, exchanged between Samuel, Showik and few others surfaced.
During his interrogation, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda had also confessed to the NCB that he used to arrange for marijuana for the late actor from September 2019 to March 2020. Rhea goes in for a second round of questioning today by the NCB.
Mumbai Sessions Court adjourns Zaid Vilatra and Basit Parihar’s bail hearing to September 9
Mumbai Session Court today adjourned the bail hearing of Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar to September 9. Zaid and Basit, along with Kaizan Ebrahim were nabbed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drug-peddling angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Zaid was put in 7-day custody till September 9, as well.
Both Zaid and Basit have been traced back to Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik. The two helped Showik procure drugs for personal consumption, as well as for Sushant Singh Rajput.
AIIMS forensic team to check viscera for poisoning, result expected in 10 days
Prof Dr Sudhir Gupta, Head of Forensic Department at AIIMS and Chairman of Medical Board, informed that AIIMS forensic team will be conducting viscera test in the Sushant Singh Rajput case to check for poisoning. The team will submit the finding within 10 days.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s initial autopsy and viscera reports had ruled out any foul play. After the CBI took over the investigation of the case, they sought the help of the AIIMS forensic team to further analysis the reports and cross-check whatever was reported. The AIIMS team had about 20 per cent of the actor’s viscera to work with, which the doctors had claimed should be enough.
Rhea being grilled by NCB Mumbai Zone Head Samir Wankhede, to be quizzed by KPS Malhotra post 1 pm
Rhea Chakraborty is being interrogated for the second time by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). After her arrival at the NCB office, she was first questioned by NCB Mumbai Zone Head Samir Wankhede and his team. Once Wankhede’s questioning is complete, KPS Malhotra and his team of officers are likely to take over Rhea Chakraborty’s interrogation. From what is known, KPS Malhotra’s probe will start post 1 pm.
Rhea Chakraborty will be confronted along with Showik Chakraborty, her brother, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and the late actor’s cook Dipesh Sawant today. Both Showik and Samuel Miranda have reached the NCB office. (Source : Indiatoday.in)
