New Dehi, September 7 : Filmmaker Sandip Ssingh was seen stepping forward and coming to Sushant Singh Rajput’s family’s aid after the young actor’s death on June 14. Soon, the filmmaker found himself surrounded by multiple controversies and his friendship with the late actor was also being questioned. In conversation with India Today Television’s Pooja Shali, Sandip Ssingh spoke about what happened after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his relationship with the actor, and more.
Why did you call the ambulance driver for the second time on June 16, did you pay them, or did somebody else pay and you took the credit?
The ambulance person had called me for their payment because my number was with the police. The ambulance person wanted to know whom he should take the payment from. The police might have given him my number at the Cooper Hospital and then he called me. As soon as I picked up the call, he said that I am the ambulance guy, I need my payment. So, it is quite obvious that he has been only asking for the payment, nothing else because it is their job. Once he (ambulance person) asked me, I said that I couldn’t pay on the 14thand the 15th , since it was Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral on June 15. The situation at that time was such that I can’t ask the family to pay it. I am also a friend; I am standing by them when nobody from the industry or his friends were there.
Then I connected him (Ambulance person) to my person, Deepak Sahu, who made the payment of 8,000 to Akshay (ambulance driver). That is why I had to speak 2 to 3 times, or 4 times whatever. I never knew that such a thing could become such a huge issue.
When I went to Sushant’s place on June 14 after hearing the news, I thought many people and his friends from the last 35 years would be there. But when I went there, I saw nobody. And now everybody tells me you were a fool to go because everyone who was intelligent and sharp, they did not go because they wanted to save their career, their image. So, does that mean when I go for the funeral, I should be careful about my shirt, my body language, or my eyes should be teary, etc?
Your phone call records showed that you were not in touch with Sushant for the last one year. This is why questions were raised as to why were you suddenly acting as if you were the closest friend when you didn’t know what was happening in his life from one year?
I say sorry to Sushant, his family and everyone that I have to reveal my personal chats with Sushant to the media because of the allegations that have been put. Because of these allegations, my mother and sister have not stopped crying. My mistake is that I went and I saw a sister who is all alone, and I started helping without thinking and the allegations started. (Source : Indiatoday.in)
