New Delhi, September 24 : The investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has escalated a drug probe into the Hindi film industry as A-list stars including Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan found themselves on the radar of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
Apart from Deepika and Sara, Rakul Preet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor have been summoned by the NCB for questioning as well. But ignorance is bliss is a proverb that Bollywood swears by, at least, in most cases. Even on the occasion of such pandemonium that comes at the cost of tarnishing the ‘image of their industry’.
Absolute radio silence has been maintained by stars on the Bollywood drug probe. Not a word has been spoken by the likes of superstars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. No Twitter exchanges. Nothing. Social media handles of stars, instead, are replete with pictures shared “bas yuhin”, sher aur shayari, World Ozone Day posts and paid partnership advertisements.
On Twitter, especially, stars such as Ranveer Singh and Ayushmann Khurrana are silent since June and July. Amitabh Bachchan posts pictures from sets almost every other day. The last activity for most Bollywood stars, is birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.
On Instagram, the story is slightly different but nothing on the lines of the drug probe of course. Kareena Kapoor Khan, earlier this week, shared what life at 40 feels like. Janhvi Kapoor posted pictures from a photoshoot on Wednesday. Ananya Panday is busy promoting her new film Khaali Peeli. Shahid Kapoor, intense as ever, delighted Instagram with a picture of himself. Basically, all this.
Here, we list the last social media activities of A-list stars, wherein the subject that India is obsessing over at the moment, was totally ignored – the Road Not Taken. Life just went on as it as for stars, at least on social media.
