New Delhi, September 11 : Is the Kangana Ranaut “episode” over yet? It is indeed for Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut who has been engaged in a bitter war of words with the Bollywood actor lately.
Taking a softer stance, Sanjay Raut said on Thursday, “The Kangana Ranaut episode is over. We have even forgotten it. We are busy with our daily, government and social work now.”
Meanwhile, Ranaut, who courted a controversy with her “Mumbai feels like PoK [Pakistan occupied Kashmir]” remark, continued to launch attacks on the Shiv Sena, its founding principle and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
9:48 am: Kangana Ranaut addresses Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in her tweet: “Dear respected honourable @INCIndia president Sonia Gandhi ji being a woman aren’t you anguished by the treatment I am given by your government in Maharashtra? Can you not request your Government to uphold the principles of the Constitution given to us by Dr. Ambedkar?,” she tweeted.
In another tweet, she said: “You have grown up in the west and lived here in India. You may be aware of the struggles of women. History will judge your silence and indifference when your own Government is harassing women and ensuring a tot.”
9:16 am: In her latest tweet, Kangana Ranaut said: “Great Bala Saheb Thakeray, one of my most favourite icons, his biggest fear was some day Shiv Sena will do Gutbandhan and become Congress. I want to know what is his conscious feeling today looking at the condition of his party?”
8:58 am: Speaking exclusively to Aaj Tak, Kangana Ranaut’s mother Asha Ranaut called the Shiv Sena coward. She further said that India supports her daughter and even thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “supporting her”. “I would thank BJP who has protected my daughter,” she said.
“Kangana will stay here [in Maharashtra]. She has spent 15 years there, half of her age. Maharashtra is for all,” Asha Ranaut further said. READ REPORT
8:20 am: In a tweet on Thursday night, Kangana Ranaut said that she cannot afford to renovate office but will continue to work from there. She used the hashtag ‘Kangana vs Uddhav’ at the end of her tweet.
High drama ensued on Thursday after parts of Kangana Ranaut’s house in Mumbai was demolished by the BMC, the actor received support from the film body, the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA), and several political leaders like Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari and Himachal CM Jairam Thakur.
However, a complaint was filed against Kangana Ranaut by a Mumbai-based lawyer for her remarks on CM Uddhav Thackeray. However, the Mumbai Police refused to file an FIR in the matter.
In yet another big development in Kangana Ranaut vs Shiv Sena row, the Bombay High Court, while hearing the actor’s petition against the BMC over the demolition of her office, posted it for further hearing on September 22. While, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui claimed that the BMC had damaged the property, leading to water and electricity connections getting disrupted, the BMC denied that it undertook the demolition of ‘illegal’ alterations at actor Kangana Ranaut’s bungalow with ulterior motives.
