Urdu translation of Nepali poems published

Kathmandu, Jan 10 : The Pakistan Academy of Letters, Islamabad, has published a collection of translation of representative poems of prominent Nepali litterateurs in ‘Urdu’, the national language of Pakistan.

The collection titled ‘Voice of Nepal’ has incorporated 108 poems translated into Urdu language— ‘Nepal’ of Dharanidhar Koirala, ‘Aba’ of Mahananda Sapkota, ‘Pinjara ko Suga’ of Lekhnath Poudyal, ‘Ama ko Sapana’ of Gopal Prasad Rimal, ‘Afno Parichaya’ of Siddhicharan Shrestha, ‘Dukha ko Katha’ of Bhawani Bhikchhu, ‘Changa’ of Kedar Man Byathit, ‘Kali Gandaki’ of Madhav Prasad Ghimire, among others.

Zia-Ul-Mustafa, Syed Kashif Raza and Munir Fayyaz have translated the poems. The 385-page compilation has incorporated poems of prominent litterateurs of Nepal written in past one year.

Nepali Embassy in Pakistan said the publication of creations of Nepali litterateurs in national language of Pakistan would help expand the creations and identity of litterateurs as well as help exchange support between the two countries. The Nepali Embassy in Islamabad had facilitated for the translation and publication of the Nepali poems.
