Kathmandu, April 8 : Speaker Devraj Ghimire has said Lions Club has played a democratic role, thereby contributing to health, education and environment sectors. Inaugurating the first convention of Lions Club International District 325M Nepal here today, Speaker Ghimire said it had also commendable role on disaster management. “With the investment of more than Rs 450 million for the 2015 earthquake, this district of Lions Club International helped in facilitating smooth running of schools with the construction of buildings,” he said, reminding that the concerned agency needs to pay heed, as the Lions Club International was taking a lead to establish a ‘TU Lions Blood Bank’ at TU premises. On the occasion, district governor Mahendra Poudel viewed he would establish the district with able leadership by identifying and correcting the weaknesses. He viewed Lions Club is the association working on social service.
