Kathmandu, Dec 18 : National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Tapa Bahadur Magar has said that the people at the grassroots should be guaranteed with their human rights.
On the occasion of the 10th Nepal Human Rights International Film Competition-2022 in Kathmandu on Sunday, Chairman Magar also argued that human rights education should be delivered to the members of the marginalised community.
“The citizens in the remote areas should be realized assurance of human rights,” he said. Human rights would be protected only if the rights of remote people were ensured, according to NHRC Chairman.
He further said that the NHRC itself is required to carry out studies on ways to ensure human rights at the grassroots. The Nepal Human Rights International Film Competition is organized in order to promote social justice and human rights perspectives. The competition shall end on December 21.
