Phikkal, Dec 4 : Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said Mundhum and Kirant religion and culture have civilizational identity. Mundhum, the unwritten theology of Kirant community, is an important heritage and a matter of pride.
Vice President Pun said it while inaugurating a programme on the 69th birth anniversary of Kirant guru Atmanand Lingden at Larumba of Mangebung Rural Municipality in Ilam on Sunday.
“Unity in diversity is main identity of Nepalis. Ilam district is also rich in nature and culture,” he observed, adding that the place inhabited by the Kiranti people is rich in religion, language and civilization. Pun further said Mundhum is the philosophy of life for all Nepalis.
The preaching of Kirant guru Atmanand Lingden is for nonviolence and peace. The Vice President expressly praised the progressive thoughts of Phalgunanda.
On a different note, he congratulated the voters for exercising voting rights in the recently held election, and extended best wishes to all elected ones.
