Different personalities, organizations awarded from Brahmachari Shadananda Foundation

Kathmandu, Nov 29 : Different individuals and organization have been prized and awarded in the capital today on the occasion of 188th birth anniversary of social reformer Shadananda. Botanist Dr Tirtha Bahadur Shrestha (Lalitpur) was given away to Shadananda Rastriya Puraskar on 15th establishment day of Abal Brahmachari Shadananda Foundation, Kathmandu.

The prize carries a purse of Rs 100,000. Likewise, Rastirya Samaj Sewa Puraksar is given to Paropakar Sanstha, Kathmandu, while Shadananda Chhetriya Puraskar is to Durga Prasad Adhikari of Bhaktapur.

The amount of the prize is Rs 51,000 each. Similarly, Som Prasad Khatiwada was provided with the fellowship of Rs 35,000. On the occasion, Khatiwada’s book written about the cultural traditions initiated by Brahmachari Shadananda was launched.

Prof Dr Suresh Raj Acharya, Dr Shrestha, Adhikari and Chairman of Paropakar Sanstha Hitkar Bir Singh Kansakar shared their views on personality of Balguru Shadananda and his efforts taken for social and educational reforms.
