Baglung, Oct 30 : Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha Chitra Bahadur KC has asserted that age factor does not decide political roles of an individual.

Addressing an electoral assembly of the five-party-coalition in Baglung on Sunday, Chairperson KC admitted that although he was elderly age-wise, he was very young in thought. “It is the thought that is new or old. The age factor does not matter in politics,” he argued.

Citing the late leaders of Nepali Congress such as Girija Prasad Koirala, Sushil Koirala and others who were leading the party and the government even towards the ebb of their life, octogenarian KC reaffirmed his commitment to remain active in politics despite his old age. The elderly leader is contesting upcoming House of Representatives election on November 20 this year from Baglung Constituency No 1.

He clarified that he was contesting the upcoming parliamentary election not at his will but of the decision of his party. Rastriya Janamorcha is one among the five coalition partners in the incumbent government. KC further explained, “I had asked my friends in the district level committee not to recommend my name. There was no recommendation either. Later the party centre fielded my candidacy.

There was recommendation that I should contest the election representing the coalition partners.” On a different note, he claimed that his party had facilitated the current coalition. “We initiated the current coalition.

Our party has issued a statement that there was regression following the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 20, 2020. KC was elected the MP in 2056 BS, 2064 BS and 2070 BS.
